For the past 50 years I have played different roles in residential construction from consulting for other architects, to bidding jobs for contractors, to the actual writing of specifications and developing spec writing software. I've seen scores of specs and understand how they're created and used in the field. It's very difficult to create a concise set of specs, which is why I decided to create this website.
